Isabelle Haak in action

The Swedish opposite of new world title-holders Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano, Isabelle Haak was named the Most Valuable Player of the Volleyball Women’s Club World Champs 2022 in Antalya. The 23-year-old standout claimed the honour for the second time in a row, after also receiving the award at last year's Club World Championship as a player of Türkiye’s VakifBank Istanbul.

1.95m-tall Haak was only the second player in the history of the competition to earn two MVP awards, after China’s Zhu Ting did so with VakifBank in 2017 and 2018.

The Swedish star also led a line-up of seven outstanding players who were honoured on the Club World Championship Dream Team during a memorable awarding ceremony after the final in Antalya on Sunday evening:

Best Setter: Joanna Wolosz (Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano)

Best Opposite: Isabelle Haak (Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano)

Best Outside Hitters: Kelsey Robinson (Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano) and Gabriela Guimaraes (VakifBank Spor Kulubu)

Best Middle Blockers: Chiaka Ogbogu (VakifBank Spor Kulubu) and Zehra Gunes (VakifBank Spor Kulubu)

Best Libero: Monica De Gennaro (Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano)

Isabelle Haak was the best scorer in each of Imoco’s four matches in Antalya and emerged as the tournament’s best scorer with 99 points, four clear of Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul’s Serbian opposite Tijana Boskovic and six clear of VakifBank’s Italian opposite Paola Egonu. The Swede also topped the best attackers’ chart with 88 kills in offence. Her tournament tally included seven stuff blocks and four aces. In Sunday’s final alone, Haak delivered a fantastic match high of 34 points.
