The four sides set to take part in the second edition of the event are among the top 15 teams in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Penn State are ranked fourth, Pepperdine are fifth, Stanford are eighth and Lewis are 15th. They also combine for ten NCAA Division I titles, with Pepperdine lifting the trophy five times, Penn State and Stanford twice each and Lewis once.

Founded by USA men’s national team head coach John Speraw and Wade Garard in 2016, the First Point Volleyball Foundation aims to support the development of boys’ and men’s volleyball in the United States.

The matches will be part of an event that will also include a showcase and a clinic, which will be held on Thursday and will feature players and coaches from all teams and will be run by coach Mick Haley, who led the USA women’s national team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
